he field switchboard serves for the optimal operation of the photovoltaic system in complete safety.
In fact, in the design and construction stages of field switchboards, the needs of management and those of the safety of photovoltaic systems must be taken into account.
In addition, it is important for the manufacturer to ensure that the switchboards are versatile, so that the installer can make the best use of them according to actual needs.
Based on these considerations, the existing types of switchboards are divided on the basis of the strings of panels into which the entire PV array is divided. The term string represents the set of panels connected in series. Thus the field may consist of one or multiple strings, which may operate independently or in parallel.
– Two-pole fuse holder complete with fuses of suitable rating with a rated operating voltage of 1000/1500VDC;
– under-load disconnect switch of suitable rating with 600/800/1000/1500VDC voltage rating (switchboards with disconnect switches equipped with minimum voltage or current-throwing release coil can be made upon request);
– Class II varistor overvoltage arrester without energy storage system with replaceable cartridge complying with reference standard IEC EN 61439-1/2 with maximum discharge current Imax 40 kA specifically for photovoltaic systems;
– Carpentry made of thermoplastic material with IP65 degree of protection, resistant to dynamic and atmospheric agents. Insulation class II.
– Screen-printed indicator plates and wire and terminal numbering system, terminal blocks, and any other charges for the proper assembly of the switchboard.
Each switchboard is tested, provided with a serial number and supplied with a wiring diagram and declaration of conformity.
